As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, many retailers have been required by legislation to temporarily close their business or in the absence of being required to do so, have elected to do so in order to protect their staff, suppliers and customers.
At this date, The Howard Centre is partially closed, however access to essential goods and services is still available.
Monday-Saturday 10am-3pm & Sunday CLOSED
Monday-Saturday 8:30am-5pm & Sunday 10am-3pm
Monday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm & Sunday 10am-4pm
M&S (Foodhall only)
Monday-Saturday 8am-7:30pm & Sunday 10am-4pm
Please contact the essential store before travelling to the centre to check that their hours have not changed unexpectedly.
In support of such action, it follows The Howard Centre does not need to retain formal opening hours to the public and it is in the interests of all to minimise risks to centre teams, the public, tenants premises and the centre’s facilities (whilst also reducing the operating costs of the centre).
Please note that rail users can access Welwyn Garden City train station from The Howard Centre between the hours of 7am and 7.30pm. Anyone travelling from 7.30pm until 7.00am, step-free access is available from the walkway behind the shopping centre, which is accessible via Osbourn Way. All areas within our control on this route will be well-lit and we are working closely with the council and train station, which have shared responsibility for other stretches along this path, to ensure the same.
As and when the government and tenants take the decision to re-open their businesses, we will do what we can to support them.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.
