The Jacobean stately home was built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury and Chief Minister to King James I, and has been the home of the Cecil family ever since.

The estate includes extensive grounds and surviving parts of an earlier palace. The house, currently the home of Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 7th Marquess of Salisbury, is open to the public.

The extensive estate offers an array of activities for visitors to enjoy.

The restaurant is now closed and will re-open on Tuesday 18th February 2020. During the Christmas holidays, opening times of shops within the Stable Yard do vary, please check with the individual retailer before visiting.
